If something feels off — a profile that seems fake or pressure to move fast — report it and back off.
How to Report Someone
If a user makes you uncomfortable or you suspect fraudulent behavior:
- Open the chat or profile of the person you want to report
- Tap the three dots (···) menu in the top right
- Select "Report" and choose a reason
- Our safety team reviews all reports within 24 hours
In case of immediate danger, always contact local emergency services first (112 in Germany / EU).
Flat Viewing Safety
- Always bring a friend or tell someone your plans before a flat viewing
- Verify the landlord's identity — ask for their name and contact in advance
- Be suspicious of requests for large deposits before a viewing
- Never transfer money without a signed contract
- Check that the address actually exists on Google Maps before visiting
Event Safety
- Check event reviews and the host's profile before joining
- Share the event details with a trusted person before attending
- Stay aware of your surroundings and keep your belongings secure
- Don't accept drinks from strangers at events
- If you feel unsafe, leave and report the event host via the app
Scam Awareness
Common red flags to watch out for:
- Listings with prices significantly below market rate
- Landlords who claim to be abroad and can't show the flat
- Requests to pay a deposit via bank transfer before signing a contract
- Pressure to decide or pay immediately
- Profiles with no photos or very new accounts
WeFlat will never ask you to pay outside the app or via unofficial channels.
Community Guidelines
WeFlat has zero tolerance for harassment, hate speech, discrimination, sexual content, threats, scams, and spam.
Users may report abusive behavior directly in the app. We review reports and take action — including content removal and permanent bans when necessary.
